A Clockwork Orange
by Anthony Burgess
Book Read on 21 / 3 / 2009
It was good and very easy to read. I enjoyed it. The version I read had the final chapter included which actually includes some emotional growth for the main character. Making it a novel instead of a parable or a cautionary tale. There are actually some funny parts if you are not too put off by the invented language and ultraviolence. I had not read the book since high school. And I think for high school kids the last chapter is especially important. It is certainly easier to read than D.H. Lawrence and some of the other stuff that I am trying to read, and it gets points for that. It also makes you want to write a book in an invented language.
