Though not much of an author, and not much of a mountaineer, either.
It was a very interesting story, poorly told. Most of the book is about his hallucinations as Joe dragged himself down the mountain after his climbing partner cut the rope that was holding him. They had been lowering him down the mountain after Joe broke his leg.
I'd like to see the movie, but I don't want to go climbing with either of them.
