House of Leaves

by Mark Danielewski
Book Read on 17 / 4 / 2004
Wow.
This was an incredible first book by this guy.
It was really scary and disturbing, it gave me nightmares. Nevertheless, it was really really good. There are so many layers to the narrative, it wraps you up...
At it's most base level it is a story about a house that is expanding on the inside, but not the outside and it contains something of a labyrinth... this labyrinthine structure is mirrored by the narrative and the tangled web that it weaves.
It is, at times, a bit difficult to read and I kept going back and forth to it while I was reading it.
