My Traitor's Heart

by Rian Malan
Book Read on 30 / 11 / 2003
This book was great. A bit confusing at times, and sometimes a bit boring with regard to the baffling politics of Black South Africa, but all in all, very good. Malan tells the true story of South Africa, about the confusion, the evil that is both white and black and how the cultures clashing has created atrocities on both sides. It made me want to be a journalist, especially one that could describe the world in the way it is --- grey, not black or white. The message of the story, we are all, as Homo Sapiens sapiens going back to Africa, but through love, and the ability to love, we can triumph over adversity.
